somewhere between wet and confused
Although I have not found an actual part of the mission statement relating to my story, I am that sure that it's meaning is hidden deep within. Last week, my friend and I decided to make a trip to Wal Mart to get a few needed necessities. There had been the threat of rain all day, but it never came. Our trip to "Wal Mart" ended up lasting longer than expected. We finally made it to our destination only to hear drops of rain coming down, slowly but surely. How convenient, we thought as we hurriedly ran up and down the isles to get what we needed. By the time we finished, we had a buggy full of things for the both of us. We ran outside to put our items in the car, all the while the rain was beginning to come down even harder. We got in the car, both soaked from heavy rain, but even more discouraged at the idea of finding a place to unload our groceries and to park with a minimal amount of soaking. After unloading our groceries, our next big challenge was finding a close parking spot. Obviously, that was very much out of the question, even after circling around several times. We finally found a parking spot which was near the back of Egypt. Feeling really depressed, my friend mentioned that we could see if the security guards could come "rescue us." To me, it seemed doubtful, but we were all out of options and the long walk to the dorm was looking as bleak as ever! We called the security office and to our surprise they came with no hesitation. We were even engaged in an enlightening conversation the ride there. I am not sure if any other college upholds the same policy, but MC has given me another reason to sleep better and to not fear a lengthy shopping trip because, rain and dark, MC security is there.
